Café Vélo

Our friend Rick Wilson got into the restaurant business selling coffee from a bike-pulled cart at Portland’s downtown farmers market. Now he hires bikes to deliver food and supplies to Café Vélo, a 180-square-foot café that’s getting rave reviews from local magazines and newspapers. The limited color palette we chose provides a perfect backdrop for the downtown eatery’s colorful Mediterranean food. The simple, functional design allows a crowd of customers to line up at the counter while Rick serves coffee and prepares flatbreads, falafels, and salads from scratch.
